Womb of Brighid

Credits

This dreamy song for Imbolc was written by Alane Crowomyn with inspirational assistance from Donna Crowwoman. Imbolc is sometimes translated as “in the belly”. This piece is about being in the Goddess Brighid’s belly during this season of potentiality. The original vocals were recorded by Alane and Donna on a little hand recorder, two months before Donna died. Later, in the studio, we added the voices of Melanie, Marilyn and Shannon to fill out the sound. The gorgeous hand pan solo is by Issa. This song is track 5 on Seasons, available for purchase here. Production of Womb of Brighid was sponsored by Rowan.

Lyrics

In silence, drinking from her well—transformation
While waiting we move gently toward transformation
Oh Brighid, gravid with our future transformation
