About Lynda Millard

Lynda Millard

Just a few years out of high school, Lynda found herself touring the country in a cheesy hotel-circuit band wearing a leotard and singing backup for an Elvis wannabe. She escaped with the drummer and went back to Houston. Lynda gave birth to twins, Taylor and Tabber, in 1982 and joined a somewhat progressive rock cover band.

In 1989, she co-founded the all-female band Velvet Hammer with Ginger Doss, Darwin Prophet and Katrina Lassberg. They broke up and got back together with a few male drummers in the band, one of which ended up being her son, Tabber. Eventually, they morphed into Dreamtrybe as Lynda, Ginger and Tabber.

Lynda wrote the songs Blessed Be and We Do Not Die in Velvet Hammer. In the years since, she has been performing them with Ginger Doss at pagan festivals across the US and Canada. She also tours and performs with S.J. Tucker, Ginger and Renee Janski as “Muses on the Road”.
