Astrology for Imbolc 2025

Greetings, Patreon followers and music lovers everywhere! This year (at least!) I will be doing readings based on the cross quarters; Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasa, and Samhain.

This promises to be a momentous year for all. First Pluto already, Jupiter and out, the rest of the outer planets will be moving into new signs, which will create a huge shift in the zeitgeist of our times, revolutionary one could say.

Despite the apparent coming political crisis looming here in the U.S., there are signs of positive change. It may a dramatic (and a bit traumatic) for many of us, especially those of us on the fringes of society, but I want to remind you of the time in the 60’s and 70’s; the political strife, the ongoing and end of the war in Viet Nam, tremendous social upheaval in general, the legalization of birth control, the civil rights struggles made for very momentous times. Do not forget a ton of great music, Humans landed on the Moon, free love, solid steps in the development of several forms of counterculture (Pagan, anyone?). It was a heady time, indeed. Different astrology but still what we have coming could be easier. Perhaps not as wild and chaotic as then, but just as far reaching. Hopefully with a more spiritual bent. That was the beginning, but refinement is always good.

Obviously, we must overcome the current hurdles that face us. Remember, we are not alone. There are many with us with the same goals of peace, equality, friendship for all.

The Sun hits the cross-quarter point of 15 degrees Aquarius on Feb 3, 7:10:26 AM MST. Right behind the sunrise. Terrific way to wake up!

Let this festival time of Imbolc be key to our focus. The power of the earth, of the hearts of all people of good will, are with us. It may seem hidden now, but it is there.

Astrology for Imbolc, 2025: readings

Aries

By April, Neptune will begin its move into Aries. This will be something not seen since the mid 1870’s. Now, we may see a big push behind our desire for touching the Divine coupled with another force behind it; Saturn demanding either clarity (could be hard for Neptune to pull off) or insisting that we can focus down on this.

Taurus

You start the year with Pluto squaring your sign. This is a sign that the coming year could very well be a challenge to up your game. Pluto is often confrontational this way. He wants not just a feeble attempt but wants you to put some skin in the game. And Blood, and sweat, and tears. Fortunately, you do have it all. You ARE an earth sign!

Gemini

Only Jupiter is in this part of the sky (and the Moon, of course, when it passes through) until early June. But Jupiter is large with a lot of juice to it. Gemini is about communication and there is a lot to talk about now. There are tremendous changes coming, now and next year and a lot of them will be happening here!

Cancer

Mars has been retrograding in Cancer for a while and will continue to well to Beltane and beyond. Seems like an odd match but Mars gives a LOT of energy to Cancer. It has been building up power here and when it goes direct about the end of February, there will be a freight train of energy charging ahead. Mars has been just building up energy.

Leo

Relationships are getting intense! Not so much bad as just a lot is coming up now, the darker side of things will be coming out and, like it or not, will have to be dealt with. Also, there is a LOT of energy regarding dreams and structure and the feeling that Karma is breaking around all this. There is love and affection in there too. This is the house of sex and death.

Virgo

Your work and health are becoming activated with the Sun and Mercury and NOW Pluto there. Perhaps this is not so much a health crisis as health awareness. You are exceptionally good at staying aware of these things. And there is important movement in your relationships now. With the North Node there now, your future is calling in your dreams.

Libra

A new level of creativity has begun for you, starting deep within you. May feel like dreams or nightmares are popping into your waking thoughts and you must express them however you do that. This is not an evil thing at all. You may be showing the world what its dreams are but here you can guide the vision to a fruitful place of healing.

Scorpio

You, more than most signs, will be feeling Pluto moving into Aquarius now. It squares you and that tension is enough to force you to come to grips with inner demons that could scare mere mortals. That may not be you though. It is like it is coming from your home, your place of safety. Sit with it a while; you will realize you are friends.

Sagittarius

Adventurousspirit that you are, I somehow have a feeling you may be between breaths. Jupiter is across from you in Gemini so there is that pull forward, but then you were born with that; the need to cross that mountain pass to see what’s “over there.” You know that Spring is not far away. Festival season, Sturgis, your crazy friends.

Capricorn

You are still calming down after Pluto left you, thinking about the depths Pluto brought out in you. Can be unnerving. I get it. The aftermath takes time to digest as well. The rest of your life. OK, no matter, you still have mountains to climb, even if they are hidden in fog from everyone else. You see them clearly.

Aquarius

Happy Birthday, Aquarius! The Sun hits the mark just before sunrise, in Aquarius. Also rising with the Sun is Mercury and Pluto. This will be a big year for you, Aquarius. With Pluto throwing its energy around, even though it can be very subtle at first, you will be feeling the push to draw on inner reserves to do what you have always wanted to do. Do it this year! Begin it now!

Pisces

You still have Neptune in your sign until the end of March. Then it is the usual back and forth with Aries till the end of the year. Saturn will stay with you for the duration. Venus slides away tomorrow. However, the North Node is now fresh in Pisces and with you. That could make this time right now precious. A karmic alignment is happening but may be for only a short while.
