About Reclaiming’s Music

Reclaiming is a community of people working to unify spirit and activism. Our Earth- and Goddess-based music is crafted for use in rituals, circles, activism, and above all singing along!

Releases fall into two groups: classic 1990s releases, and those since 2016, which are by a mostly-younger ensemble. Musicians are a diverse group from African, South American, Asian, and European backgrounds. A core group records as “Reclaiming.” Many others contribute tracks to our half-dozen compilation albums.

Recent releases have featured bilingual Spanish-English versions of classics, along with much experimentation in styles and accompaniments – blues, samba, bass-n-conga, reggae, disco, metal….

Our music streams on all known sites. You can find our artist pages by searching “Reclaiming Chants.”

About Reclaiming

Reclaiming’s vision is rooted in the religion and magic of the Goddess. We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops and rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture.

Founded around 1980 in the SF Bay Area by Starhawk and others, Reclaiming tradition now includes several dozen regional communities, witchcamps, and family camps across the Americas and in Europe and Australia. Celebrating Spring with a Favorite Starhawk Chant

As new life blossoms forth, Reclaiming witches gather and sing our favorite Springtime chant: She Changes Everything She Touches (aka Koré Chant) by Starhawk. The chant celebrates the changing of the seasons and calls forth the Goddess in each of us. In a time when our magic is urgently needed...
