Astrology for Yule, 2020

Greetings and a very Merry Yule to every Gentleperson! The wheel turns and we come to Winter Solstice. End of a year and an era. In more than a few ways.

We have had a “grand conjunction” of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn culminating this year and all squaring Eris. All have moved on with Pluto, moving the slowest, moving away from its square to Eris; still in aspect but that will end. The current political climate in America is evolving, hopefully for the best.

The plague, while still very rampant, is beginning to meet its match. But also, Jupiter and Saturn will have just actually met in Aquarius. Today! This is big news. The whole year has been BIG NEWS!

I’m sure you noticed.

With the culmination of the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction some refer to this as the beginning of the “Age of Aquarius.” We have certainly been through enough to want a big change in how life is structured and will run.

These conjunctions happen every 20 years or so, but this is the first to happen in Aquarius since 1405! So, yes, it is a big deal. New energy patterns being brought out. To toss out a bit of history from the 1400’s: “1400s: Plague, War, Turmoil, and the start of the European Renaissance”. We have certainly seen the first three in recent memory. Time for a Renaissance!

As usual, my readings are for the couple of weeks leading up to our next Sabbat, and for about a month afterward. So, the following readings are good starting now and through until the weeks leading into Imbolc.

Astrology for Yule, 2020: readings

Aries

Your Yule starts with the energy of new beginnings around you. Again, you put yourself in the middle of a revolution! There is a spark of Mars fighting the good fight, moving into that square with Pluto. I see it having to do with your life direction. This it not a bad thing. It will be exciting where you go from here.

Taurus

Wow! This revolution just might be televised. The streak of originality you have been showing us all is ready to be put into high gear very soon. With Uranus in your sign, I want to call you “Inspired Bull.” Jupiter/Saturn will very soon be squaring that Uranus and that will be quite the fireworks show.

Gemini

The lines of communication are open between you and the Universe right now. It is calling you to go where you want to go. Higher aspirations. Oddly, your planet is at a tough angle to your sign so it may feel harder to express yourself. You know that will change with not all that much time. Then it will be exquisite!

Cancer

Right now, the Moon is in square to the Sun so it may feel like things are just at odds with your deep emotional nature. Honestly, with everything that is in your house of “Direction in Life,” that’s kind of understandable. But mainly I see energy for healing. There may be wounds to be healed. Take care of yourself.

Leo

That Jupiter/Saturn is sitting in opposition to you; kind of a challenge yet you are just the type to accept it and take the lead! It is with your friends (and open enemies!) so there will be a sense of challenge to you and your ego. But you know you are much more the “Captain Kirk” than the ego of Napoleon. Boldly Go where no one has gone before!

Virgo

The creative streak you have been having is culminating in a new direction, not just creativity but how you create. There is still a lot of underground energy pushing your mind though. Now the Sun and Mercury joining Pluto in your 5^th “house of children and ‘brain children’” that will pick up the pace. I am sure you have a surprise for Yule for us.

Libra

I see some confrontation happening with your feelings, how you deal with them, how others deal with them. You are normally open and direct in relationships so this could be easy, though we all have some things we have a hard time talking about. Mars is in there too to push issues here. Let your Venus charm ease the path to understanding.

Scorpio

Your guy is squaring Eris still but that will move out around January 10. Right now, and for a few days, Mars is squaring Pluto and that may make things testy and on edge all on its own. The Jupiter/Saturn conjunct may be a push for you as well, challenging old beliefs. That is what it is for, actually. You will be OK.

Sagittarius

Your planet is meeting up with Saturn today! Every 20 years this happens and marks the beginning of cycles in the world. This is big news! Your adventurous spirit loves this kind of thing. This will inform your thinking and feeling for a long while. Let us create something wonderful and lasting!

Capricorn

Happy Birthday, Kid! The beginning of your year starts with quite a bang, no? Sun conjunct Mercury, closely; Jupiter conjunct Saturn very closely; Mars squaring Pluto closely. Enough energy for you? I think this all points the way to your future. Keep moving, do not get lazy, be inspired! It is a new dawn!

Aquarius

This truly is big doings in your sign, and right at the beginning of it to boot! This coming year will have new beginnings you may not even be able to imagine now. That is OK. Pisces
