Chant of the Month

Chant of the Month: A Living Body of Work

Over the past year, I’ve been quietly building something very specific: a growing body of ritual chants and spell songs designed to be used, not merely listened to.

Each Chant of the Month is written with intention first—ritual timing, breath, repetition, communal voice, and magickal function. Some are spoken. Some are sung. Some are meditative and long-form. Others are rhythmic, forceful, and precise. Several include full written spell instructions meant to be performed alongside the music.

What follows is a chronicle of the chants already released, in the order they arrived.

Bundle 1

Thank You, Demeter

A harvest meditation

This ten-minute meditation is intentionally simple. Gratitude is named directly—no embellishment, no excess. The chant offers thanks to Demeter for sustenance, harvest, and continuity, creating space for stillness and embodied appreciation.

Lyrics:
Efcharisto, Dimitra (Greek)
Thank you, Demeter (English)

Knot Spell

A sung working of the traditional knot spell

This chant transforms an old spell into a musical enchantment. Each knot is reinforced through rhythm and repetition, allowing the spell to be spoken, sung, and physically enacted at the same time. The complete knot spell instructions are included as a downloadable PDF.

We Light the Fire

A communal blessing and chant of perseverance

This chant is built for group use, yet works just as well alone. It blesses heart, mind, and soul while affirming resilience and collective strength. The refrain “We shall prevail” is not aspirational—it is declarative.

13 Visions

A spell chant for crafting a scrying flame tincture

This chant is both ritual and instruction. As each herb is named and stirred, the chant becomes the working itself. The final ignition of the tincture marks the transition into scrying. Full ritual directions and formula are included as a PDF.

Hail Dionysus

An ecstatic hymn with a shadowed edge

This chant honors Dionysus in his fullness—joy, revelry, liberation, and vengeance. The song moves between celebration and warning, acknowledging that transformation is not always gentle. The god is praised without being sanitized.

Bundle 2

Apple Love Spell

A spell song chant weaving apple magick and intention to call in love and sacred union.

Inspired by a vision of a young maiden wandering an apple orchard, this chant unfolds as a teaching passed from the dryads of the trees themselves. Voices rise together, guiding the listener through a living spell of love, alignment, and sacred connection. Seventy-two tracks from women who lent their voices to this recording, creating a rich, communal field of sound that carries intention as much as melody.

The working goes beyond attraction alone. Included with this chant are written directions not only for the Apple Love Spell itself, but also for crafting an apple handfasting cord—a ritual cord created from apple seeds and intention, designed to be used in your own handfasting or commitment rite. In this way, the chant becomes both spell and preparation, weaving love into voice, fruit, and fiber.

I Grow

A Pagan chant affirming renewal, resilience, and the unstoppable force of life.

This song honors the Green One as Nature’s enduring pulse. It moves through growth, decay, and rebirth, grounding the listener in the cycles that sustain all life. The chant shifts from “I” to “You,” turning invocation into blessing.

Ball of Black

A banishing spell song, great for shadow work!

This is an active working, not a passive listening experience. The chant guides the creation, shaping, and casting of a black waxen sphere meant to absorb and transform negativity. Fire, rhythm, and voice work together as the spell unfolds.

Bast Healing Prayer

A gentle Pagan prayer invoking comfort, protection, and restorative healing through the presence of Bast.

Adapted from my original 1992 song Bast, this version is slower and deliberately repetitive. It is meant for grounding, healing, and steady devotional practice, calling upon Bast’s protection and restorative power.

I Have Returned (upcoming release)

A chant of reincarnation, reclamation, and love

I Have Returned tells the story of a witch who was burned, reborn, and returned—not for revenge, but to reclaim identity and speak truth with love. The word Witch is named repeatedly as an act of remembrance and restoration.

Supported by a driving djembe beat, this piece is choral, layered, and transformational, moving through time, trauma, and renewal.
