Over the past several years, I’ve created a growing body of ritual chants and spell songs designed to be used, not merely listened to. These chants remain available for purchase at AlexianMusic.com, and I’m also beginning the process of bringing them to streaming platforms so they can reach a wider audience. Each chant is written …
First Connection Last summer I was preparing to lead a Litha ritual, and I found a poem called “Wild Woman” in my files. I didn’t remember seeing or hearing it in the past, but it seemed perfect for the summer solstice celebration we would be holding in an oak grove. The page said it was …
As a child I loved playing in the monsoon rains of my childhood home of Colorado, splashing in the puddles and helping the earth worms back to their dark earthy homes after they were washed out onto the street. As an adult I have also run out into the spring rain with joyful thankfulness and …
It’s finally spring! Not the time of year you’d expect to be thinking about the Crone, right? Well, I have some perspective on the Crone Journey that seems to fit with spring energy. A few weeks ago I drew a card from my gems and minerals deck, The Illustrated Crystallary by Maia Toll. The card …
Today I am toasting the arrival of the Beltane season with some mead I made two years ago. Remember those strange times? It was April of 2020 and we were holed up in our homes. I was very, very single at that time, so it was rather an isolating experience. For me, that was a …

Now is the time when the darkness is deepest. The nights are long, and the further north you live, the more intense the difference is. Winter Solstice brings us to the peak of the power of darkness. As pagans, we know that this darkness is holy. Singing at Winter Solstice, we embrace the value of …
I love the lead-up to Samhain. I can dress as witchy as I want and fit right in with the Muggles celebrating Halloween. As Jon mentioned in his astrololgy post last week, even though most people celebrate Samhain and Halloween on October 31, the actual cross-quarter day is November 6, which is this coming weekend. …
