Ecomancy

Credits:

The Crow Women practice ecomancy–we immerse ourselves in the magic that’s inherent in the land we live on. This song brings together the goddesses that emerged for us from our landscape. Carole sings of our earth goddess Magurk, Melanie of water goddess Ooshbala. Donna adds a prayer to Nahseera of the air and Tara’s voice dances over the top with fiery Horash Siparee. The energy of the directions makes way for the mysterious voice of the center, sung by Deb. This song is complex, but then Alane Crowomyn wrote it right after taking four semesters of music theory! You can buy this music here. It’s track 14 on our album Crow Magic.

Lyrics:

Magurk, Magurk, Magurk, earth
Green hills, health, worth

Ooshbala, Ooshbala
water Goddess, come to us
Ooshbala, Ooshbala
from the west, bring us blessings
Ooshbala, Ooshbala
tears and blood & rain and ocean
Ooshbala, Ooshbala
open us to deep emotion

Nahseera, Nahseera
Air Goddess, come to us
Nahseera, Nahseera
From the east, bring us blessings
Nahseera, Nahseera
Breath and song & wind and dawn
Nahseera, Nahseera
Open us to inspiration

Horash Siparee, fire Goddess
Horash Siparee, come to us
Horash Siparee, from the south
Horash Siparee, bring blessings
Horash Siparee, desire’s
Horash Siparee, flame dancing
Horash Siparee, open us
Horash Siparee, to courage

My name is mystery
Here at the center of all
Time spins around me
And I am still
Intimate and limitless
I am always here
Where four paths meet
I will appear

Elemental Altars Blessing My Home

Creating sacred spaces that reflect the environment where you live is a part of ecomancy: the magic of connection to place. Ecomancy: Our Goddess of Water

The Crow Women began working with dedications to the elements many years ago, as explained in a previous post about this aspect of our priestess training tradition. After due deliberation, each of us chose our first element to work on. I could have chosen one of the elements I feel most comfortable with: fire or … Ecomancy:...
