Spellcasting with Music

I don’t have an altar, (Everywhere I am is my altar) I don’t use a magic wand…I use a guitar….

My spells are my music and my words, my songs and compositions. My rituals are every show I play.

Every time I sit down with my guitar to write a song or instrumental composition, I’m tossing ingredients into my cauldron, stirring them up and making magic…First for myself…then others….

Magic in action is vibrations of light and sound. Music is vibrations. Light is vibrations.

I have been playing music for a very long time and have always understood the deep spiritual connection I share with my music and the Universe.

I was about 14 or 15, walking a country road at night in Highland Illinois near my Grandparents farm. I had my guitar, a Stella Harmony with painted on fret markers strapped over my shoulder. I had just walked through a neighboring farm’s pasture. The stars were shining bright, and I could sense something in the mists and the trees watching me…I started playing as I walked down the road after and for the very first time started to write something of my own. I got chills up my spine and the top of my head buzzed like crazy….

It was the Universe letting me know I was on the right path…..

Now, since then I have been playing and writing music for nearly 60 years.

I started playing in rock bands at 16, earned the money for my Les Paul at 17, doing hard physical labor and then finally became a solo musician in the late 90’s.

I feel so amazingly blessed to be on this road I’ve been on and have been able to share with others!

Magic is all around us and within us and is always just waiting for each of us to simply light the spark, to connect our magic the Universe and all who live our lives in it.

Whether you use your own words or someone else’s, sing your own melody or one borrowed. You may choose a drum, candle or a wand…Your own path is there.

Your own spark…is waiting to be lit…..
